EM ZEE TEE VEE

When I went to MZTV.com, I didn't know what to check out first, so I just started clicking around.  The first thing I stumbled upon was the "television in quotes" section.  One of the first quotes that caught my eye was from Orson Welles who said, "I hate television. I hate it as much as peanuts. But I can't stop eating peanuts". I think a lot of people could sit in front of the TV for hours, it does become sort of an addiction (I'm guilty myself, but I think everyone has "their shows"). I glanced at a lot of other quotes, but my favorite one was by Gene Roddenberry, the creator of "Star Trek".  He said, "They say that ninety percent of TV is junk. But, ninety percent of everything is junk". HAH! ...true.
I also thought it was cool to see things from the 1939 World's Fair, Television in the World of Tomorrow, because technology has come a long way since then.  Video cameras and being recorded is so commonplace now, but then it was a big deal to be seen on the screen. People would stand in one room and wave to people watching them in another room on the television screen.  At the end, they received cards that said, "I was televised". That must have been an exciting time.
On the website you could also see a timeline of television history and see information about influential people in early television. Pretty interesting.
