Stock Market Crash

The 1920's was an exciting decade in American history (they don't call it the "roaring twenties" for nothing).  It really was a time for consumers and people were spending money like never before. Stocks had increased in value and the market was at a record high, and people were optimistic that it would stay that way.  However, on October 29, 1929, (also known as "Black Tuesday") prices fell drastically and proceeded to do so for a month.  Because of this, stocks lost 90% of their value and many people lost everything they had.  This was one of the causes of the Great Depression.
