Madama Butterfly Animation

I thought the Madama Butterfly animation on YouTube was an interesting way to portray that Opera.  I found it to be very thought-provoking at times.  The animation was also symbolic; examples of this include the usage of the umbilical cord connecting the child to the mother, and the navy hat blowing off the woman upon the man's return.  The umbilical cord was a clear indication of the attachment a mother has to her child.  The cord acting as a kite string was whimsical and playful.  It was clever to use Ken and Barbie dolls as the typical American prototype.  My favorite part about the video was the ending because of the way her self-destruction was portrayed in a very physical fashion, taking herself apart piece by piece.  Though I couldn't understand the words in the music, the animation gave a comprehensible presentation and quick synopsis of the story.
